ZG kena punished to do quick feet for not running for balls, erm i mean tennis balls. Instead, he was just waiting for the balls to go to him. Damn din get a good shot, you guys should see the shag look on his face and all the vulgarities & complains spewing out of his mouth during the session. Priceless!

Of a fan fic

Currytan set foot on his diablo2 journey only during his army days, due to boredom and the existence of a certain crazy diablo addict who sort of motivated him to explore further into the game and even writing a fan-fiction. So, towards the end of his diablo2 career, Currytan wrote a short story entitled "Journal Of a Rogue Hireling" which was based on the perspective of a hireling instead of main characters, as she travelled the diablo world with her master, a Druid. The story was only posted on Planet Diablo Forum and was completed in Dec 2004. Nothing much was heard about it since I quit the game. However...

Yesterday, Jere, who was surfing the net in the PC cluster with me, accidentally stumbled upon a mysterious blog by the name of currytanthewindwalker. He typed "currytan.blogspot" instead of "justsomegibberish.blogspot" and got a shock of his life as he thought I have changed my blog completely.

Yet, on closer examination, I realised what that blog was all about. My entire story was posted there!! Sheesh... I've got a fan??! Crap, someone posted my story without my permission.. Wah lao, only want the story to be read within the PDF community only lor.

But then again, I am not really disturbed by this, it has been quite a while back anyway. Now if you somehow want to read my lousy story, you know what to do..

Of Yahtzee


Yahtzee is a dice game played with 5 dice. Players have the option of re-rolling any number of dice up to 3 times in hope of making 1 of the 13 categories. Examples of categories are 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, straight, full house, etc, and the category with the most number of marks is the Yahtzee, which is 5 dice of the same kind. An example is as follows:

The player then try to fill in a score for each category, but this is not always possible. When all categories are filled with a score or a zero, the game ends and total scores are computed. Read more here!

Staring at the oscilloscope's screen for 3 hours and transfering whatever thats on it onto the logbook is just not the way to spend the break man.

And doing labs when the concepts of the experiment have not yet been covered in lecture is just not cool at all. Half the time we were wondering what the hell was going on.. Erm, what transmission line..? We were merely whacking formulas without knowing whats going on man. Crap.


Its giving me headaches and the green waveforms are still whirling around my head even now as I write the report..

By the way, Engin fac is still pretty operational ready active even during the mid term break..haiz

Of labs and the breadboard

Dang! Spent my entire weekend doing lab reports and stuff when i am supposed to be slacking. Ok ok, also got watch southpark, give tuition and went out with the 3 jeremys to buy tennis rackets just now. Tomorrow need to go school for another lab, all thanks to engin day. But then again, I would say its a blessing in disguise, as the postpone had allowed us more time for the preparation of our EE2004 mid term test and the superb tennis session. So yea, but I heard that the lab (EM2) is quite a bitch; we shall see tml.

Anyway, I kinda love playing around with wires, transistors and the breadboard. I thought the previous lab (E2) was one of the most interesting lab we had thus far. (no?) (Although I am now still struggling with that lab report which is due tml noon...) Heh. I am such a weirdo.

Of playing tennis

Now that I have mastered playing the top spin on Jared's Xbox during the holidays in the many gatherings at his house, its time to put those skills into the real game. Had a game of tennis with yeow, jere, jhalley and Jeremey Chong in nus after the engine day thingy just now. The session was full of laughter and fun, and it was a real good workout after all those mugging session and late nights for the mid-term tests and stuff. Jhalley was good & yeow picked it up really fast, while me and jere still learning how to serve properly. And Jeremy Chong is such a bully. Heh. We shall make this a weekly session & play tennis every friday afternoon, if theres no lab. Weee!

Of Mid semester

Finally the mid sem break is here! But it also means that the exams is not far away and yet another semester is ending soon. I kinda like this semester than the previous 2. For one, I am in science and arts most of the time. Heh. Also, I have 2 great friends, Jere and Yeow, to study together, although sometimes we will go abit haywired due to the infamous "yeow" syndrome. And I dun drink coffee, which is the antibiotics for this particular illness, so i resort to sighing to release the germs which brought about much disapproval from the two... Furthermore, modules are quite interesting especially electronics (EE2005) and electronic devices (EE2004), as the semiconductor and electronics industries are of interest to me. Easy modules include stats & prob (ST2334) and understanding uncertainty (GEM2900). And electronomagnetic (EE2011) is just one boring shit. Lastly, nation building (SSA2204) which i am going to s/u is just for fun and to fulfill the SS (Singapore studies) as well as to know more girls, i mean the singapore history.

Had 2 mid term test so far. Nation building's i almost screwed it up by forgetting what happened in 1948; it was the MCP's (Malayan communist party) arms struggle and the emergency. EE2004's was quite alright i guess, hopefully can score well. 3 more after the break. Thats it for now. Out.

I din realise i have been studying too much, not going on msn anymore, rejecting lunch dates and some gatherings till someone sms me on friday morning saying that it has been a long time since she last heard from me and wondered if I am still alive..

Heh, still surviving lar. Just that sometimes will go abit haywire and start bringing electronics and semiconductors theories into daily conversation with 2 equally insane hardworking friends. What to do? Tests are coming and its a great way to understand the concepts (no?). Oh btw, I dun have internet access for the whole day cos my brother and I share a single port modem; it will stay that way till we get a switch or a router.

Also, Dead or Alive 3 on Xbox is a great game and my favourite characters are Jann Lee (chinese martial artist aka Bruce Lee clone) and Zack (Thai style boxer). Thks to Jared for sharing the game which many of the signallers enjoyed playing on the many gatherings in his house. Oh anyway, Jared, who is now in Maine, USA, is apparently studying too much as well. (Read his recent email, heh)

Of cheese sausage semiconductor

Poor cheese sausage was being modeled as a semiconductor by 3 crazy (or more appropriately termed as the "yeow syndrome") engineers this afternoon over lunch at business canteen.

The sausage comprises of meat atoms positioned regularly in the sausage lattice. There are small amount of point defects which causes some ugly hollows in the sausage. Some grain boundaries, which are generally undesirable, are present, causing significant amount of scattering of the cheese particle, which is modeled as the negatively charge carriers aka the electrons. Photogeneration in the form or light or heat excited the electrons cheese, causing them to spread outwards towards the vacuum level, while creating a cheese-hole pair in the process. It was rumored that the sausage was doped, perhaps with a group 5 elements including the likes of oil and chilly sauce, in an effort to enhance the electrons cheese concentration (n-type sausage!) and thus the sausage electrical cheesy properties.

Someone gotta stop these 3 lunatics before they start creating a Gaussian surface around the cheese sausage and taking the surface integral to find the electric cheese field density…

Of drinking water

Looks like both Jere and Wei Xian are right.

One, drinking a litre of water upon waking up in order to cleanse the bowel is an Indian therapy which is claimed to prevent serveral illnesses and keep the person healthy. This was recommended by Jere when he realised I have not been drinking much water in school.

On the other hand, Wei Xian's right too in the sense that excessive consumption of water (more then 1.5 litres) in a single intake can also have deterimental effects to the body. Read more on water intoxication.

I will probably start by drinking lesser than the recommended amount, say 500ml, and see how it goes. Yes, I am feeling rather unhealthy of late, probably due to the lack of excercise and hectic + stressful school life.

Btw, this reminded me of water parades in army days.. "Half water bottle drriiinnk up!!" Heh.

Can't decipher? It means I have been so busy that I couldn't find the time to blog during weekdays anymore.. Tutorials seem endless and lab report for PSPICE robbed us of quite a considerable amount of time.

Of gathering

Gathering with some jc classmates yesterday, Tnt, Danny and Jun An. Went Newton circle for dinner and had oyster omelette, stingray, squid, kang kong and satay. Yea 4 out of 5 dishes are spicy and tnt+danny almost couldn't take it, while Junan and I wondered what the fuss was all about with our +10 to spicy resistence hat hanging on our head.

Sometimes I do feel left out when they start to discuss about ntu's stuff.. Yes all from ntu engine. And yea, we all agree that engineers lead a very hard undergrad life compared to other professions. And its not like as though we will get a better life out there after we graduate..

Anyway, the electrical engineers proved that their mechanics knowledge surpass that of the mechanical engineers in a game of pool! Wahaha!
