The Adventures of Fancy Pants Man is a simple yet cool flash game where the character runs through the level, dodge or kill monsters in the way and collect the circular thingy and trophies (which is supposed to appear when you discovered the secret locations or something like that).
Question: Supposed you have 2 hourglasses, 1 runs for 7 mins and the other runs for 11 mins. How can you time a duration of 15 mins with these 2 hourglasses only?
PS: The time starts ticking the moment you turn over either or both hourglasses.

I’ve just applied for VIP (Vacation internship program) under the NUS VIP placement system. It was quite a long list of companies to choose from and was quite spoilt for choice. But when I considered my area of interest, then it became pretty obvious to me which ones I will be going for. Micron and SSMC are my top 2 choice, both in the semiconductor industry and quite prominent in that field. I am not sure how the placement system works, but most likely its going to be merit based, i.e. CAP, which means I might not be able to get what I want. But if they were to look at our interest/intended specialize field, then hopefully I will stand a better chance, judging from my fervent display of interest in their industry in my CV, well at least the grades in the relevant modules are presentable.
Quantum automation is my 3rd and this one was chosen based on location, kaki bukit which is like a 10-15 mins bus ride from home. I know nothing about the company, however a quick search in the net revealed that it deals with integrated technology in automated system.
The last one is Addest Technovation, dealing with R&D, and it aims to expose students to design and development work. This one is located in ayer rajah though.
Now now, which of these will take poor currytan in? = (
Flash Element TD is another tower defense game, similar to this game, but now with more variety of towers & monsters and with better graphics.
The objective is the same, to stop the monsters before they reach the end of the maze. There are 7 towers in total, all having options of upgrades. Furthermore, there is also the option of selling towers for 75% of the price, especially useful after getting the elemental towers where the basic towers are no longer of much help.
Some info/hints:
Canon tower is good for its splash damage and it has pretty decent damage for starting levels. This is only for land attack and this is my main tower at the early levels.
Arrow tower has a long range but with a rather low damage. This one can attack both land and air creature.
Air tower is an only-air attack tower which have relatively high damage and range compared to the above two basic towers.
Now, every 7 levels, you will get 1 wood and this wood can be use to upgrade your interest rate or research elements which in turn allows you to build elemental towers.
Water tower is the weakest in terms of damage (40) and range (75) among the 3 elemental towers. This tower, however, slows creatures down (on both air and land) upon hit and is very useful as well. Immune creatures will not be affected by the slow though.
Fire tower deals decent damage (400) over an average range (100) to both land and air creatures. Its splash damage coupled with a fast attack rate is especially valuable and this, in my opinion, should be your main tower once you research fire.
Earth tower has a huge damage (960) and decent range (130), yet its attack speed is very slow.
The combo rocket tower has an awesome damage of 2000 and a superb range of 170. Level 1 rocket has a slow attack speed. Upgrade it and you get a fast attacking rocket! This should be your main tower after researching all the elements.
Also, do make use of the interest rate system by keeping more gold in your bank; it helps alot.
There are 30 levels and 5 bonus levels for this game. I completed the game with a score of 5551, try to beat me! Heh.
Just received the results for my module bidding: Successfully allocated with GEK1527, Genes and society. The bidding for this module is so not exciting at all, only 200+ bidding for 301 seats. Heh.
What's neat about GEK1527, I realised, is that all the lectures for my group (SL1) will end by the 8th week (a typical semester in nus is 13 weeks), leaving us lots of time for our core modules. Moreover, there are no tutorials for this. An essay assignment and a midterm quiz constitute the CA component of this module.
So there, the above should more or less be the finalized timetable for my coming semester.
More events coming up:
1) Tutorial bidding for ECE students, round 1A starts on the 8th of Jan (Mon). Ballot for your tutorial slots over at Cors.
You are a professional assassin assigned with some missions. Depending on the objectives, you have to make crucial decision as to who to kill, who to shoot first and also when to pull the trigger so as not to be detected. Thus, be sure to read the objectives carefully before each mission.
