Of EE3702

After checking out some of the EE technical electives, i found one that could be of interest to gamers. Oh my, finally a module where you can play games!

EE3702: Electronic gaming, this module provides a overview of electronic gaming and covers the basics of the game industry and game production, ranging from business environment, game developments to game structures, design, tools and technology which includes the graphics (Visualization basics; sprites; texture and polygon handling; shaders and rendering; particle systems; shadows; effects; DirectX, OpenGL; morphing, kinematics and animation), the platform (Technical details and platform capabilities; PS3, PS2, Xbox360, Wii, PC, PSP, DS, mobile phones), the AI, sounds, network structures, etc.

The assessment is based on 50% exam and 50% project work. The project will consist of a team of around 3 and they will develop a game idea and a related development proposal document, covering topics like game design, marketing, technology base, schedule, and financial planning.

Students will need to play a range of different game demos and required to follow gaming industry news at http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php and http://www.gamespot.com/news/.

Hahaha sounds so fun, might take this as my 5th module instead and s/u it! Anyone wana join me? Heh. =)
