Phew, they clarified the s/u policy liao:

CS/CU grades will be awarded for IA and VIP. These CS/CU grades for IA and VIP are over and on top of the 12 MCs of S/U.

S/U grades (NOT CS/CU) will be awarded for other enhancement programs i.e. TIP, Innovation program, UROP, IWP.

These S/U grades for TIP, Innovation program, UROP, IWP will be part of the 12 MCs of S/U.
